Quailfied - 2nd
Finished - 1st

TQ set in 18 laps 306.020 (Ian Wittingham TC3)

Xray Options Used:
one-way front diff, front and rear anti-roll bars, high-performance belts, alu
rear wishbones, front upper alu wishbone holders, rear roll center bridge.

Qualifing

After a wet start to to the day the track dried for round 2 to allow faster
times to be set. TQ afer r2 was Ian with his (TC3) follwed by Gavin (Xray)
and Jason (SST). Round 3 saw all drivers improve their times as the drying
track allowed slick tires to be used with additive. Ian still held the TQ
spot by 4 seconds followed by John (TC3) and Gavin 0.2s behind. Round 4 and a
dry fast track saw a great race for TQ between Ian and Gavin as they pulled
away from the rest of the field. After the 5 minutes Ian took the TQ spot
with a time of 18 laps in 306.020 from Gavin on 18 laps in 306.980. This
could have been the oposite way around with Gavin clipping the track marker
on the last corner. The 3rd qualifier was John 7 seconds futher back. With
qualifing over the race of the day looked like being between Ian & Gavin for
the Win in the A final.


A Final
Ian choose the outside on the grid and when the race started Gavin was
straight up the inside into the first corner. Gavin backed off to stop the
two cars touching allowing Ian to lead the first lap. The two drivers
continued to lap in the fast pace that they showed in quailifing pulling away
from the field. After 4 minutes Ian held a 1 second lead from Gavin. Gavin
seamed to increase the pace and start to catch Ian. With 3 laps to go Ian’s
car slowed from the pace and presure that the race was being run at and on
the 2nd to last lap Gavin passed Ian to lead the A final and take the first UK National win for the XRAY T1.
